HOW TO APPLY
The Commonweal Foundation is able to fund only a very small percentage of the requests it currently receives. Many requests are declined not because they are lacking in merit, but because they do not match our programming guidelines.
Grant proposals must be submitted electronically by using the Commonweal Foundation's online application.
PLEASE NOTE: Beginning in February 2008 , the Foundation will only accept requests filed electronically.
Application Deadlines are February 1 and August 1.
All organizations seeking grants must prove tax-exempt eligibility under section 501 ( c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Tax Code.
Only complete grant requests will be considered.
ANNUAL GRANT EVALUATIONS Grantees must provide an annual grant evaluation report within one year of receipt of grant award (check date). Your organization must send a written report showing how the grant money was used and an internal evaluation of the program using the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers (WRAG) reporting format. New grant requests will not be accepted or reviewed by the Foundation until your report has been filed. You may download this suggested format for your report.
