What is Pathways to Success?
The Pathways to Success program assists students by awarding them scholarships to attend boarding and day schools. The schools' environment provides Pathways students the opportunity to increase their academic skills, gain work experience, and expand their knowledge of life beyond their local communities.
Although Pathways is primarily a funding program, personnel visit the students at their schools, review academic progress, and monitor participation in employment or community service programs.
Scholarship awards may be used at any one of the Pathways Partner Schools and are determined on a case-by-case basis per academic year. These schools provides a high quality college preparatory curriculum, work skills and social guidance. Funds are distributed directly to the schools.
When renewing scholarships, Pathways considers student progress, and demonstrated need.
Who is Eligible to Apply for a Pathways Scholarship?
Students who:
- Are new to the boarding/day school experience
- Are entering grades 9 through 12
- Show a need and a strong desire to change their school situations
- Have the potential to be successful in a regular or accelerated classroom setting
- Have a family income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Are willing to participate in work and community service opportunities
